Bali Trip - Day 5

We had our 4th and 5th nights in the Swastika Bungalows, located in the middle of the busy streets in Sanur.

The front lobby of this Swastika Bungalows did not appear to be very nice, it appeared almost remote to us, as it was located behind a small lane, just enough for a car to go through at one time in one direction. The surroundings were all trees, ferns, greens....

The orange juice for welcoming guests

Our twin single bedroom, we were satisfied at the cleanliness.

The bathroom

Shukai was lying dead on his bed after 1 whole day of travelling.

There were numerous independent bungalows of different designs and orientation which consists of about averagely 10 rooms each, in this Swastika Bungalows.

The Swimming pool.
Anyway, this hotel gave us the feeling of moss growing everywhere...moisted, humid

The swimming pool, a good place where we spent our morning cooling away

The room, outside each rooms had 2 arm chairs, the door of each room was simply locked by a heavy piece of metal padlock. This gave us an impression of our local Nyonya culture.

After having breakfast, it was time for a short walk at the Sanur beach which was only 10 minutes walk across a lane from our hotel.

At one end of the Sanur beach where there were fewer people, peaceful.

The entrance to the beach. It was really interesting to see this kind of entrance everywhere every place in Bali. And it was not unusual to see every beach has its entrance as if the beaches were someone's properties.

It used to be a tree.

The Spa and Massage Centres that we stopped by before going for a shopping spree in Jalan Kuta, "Reborn" on the left and "Cozy" on the right, located at Jalan Sunset, Kuta. I was surprised that Cozy had more customers visiting despite of its appearance from outside.
Now, let's have a look at the inside of Cozy Spa.

A bar for some drinks or teas while we waited.

As there were alot of customers visiting, we have to wait for our turn, however the wait was a brief one.

The front desk

This room is specially for foot reflexology, which can accomodate no less than 20 customers at one time, all served by males, people thinks males had the strength to massage the foot better!
A therapy of 1.5hour, for feet, hands and shoulder reflexology priced around Rp 86k.
I only did this to spend my time away while waiting for my friends in the whole body massage, I don't think there will be a next time as I really did not like the feeling of being thumb pressed and palm squeezed by others on my foot, or any part of my body, no matter how many times I requested the boy to be gentler and lighter in strength, it was all in no avail... while the others around me enjoyed so much that they fall asleep and were snoring away, I just could not help but being tense all the time, and I had developed a few spots of bruises on both my legs afterward......

So the modern people did suffer from extreme daily stresses that their muscles were so tensed and they really need reflexologies after all, however, not me...
And after the massage, we had our driver dropped us off at the Jalan Raya Seminyak where we started our shopping spree. Our plan was shopping while walking down along this street to pass Jalan Legian, and finally to the Jalan Raya Kuta. These are the busiest streets (I think) in Bali where the whole streets are stalls, shops of so many different things to keep our eyes busy.

Amelia, you're always with us!

Papa, you're always with us too!

And after a few hours, we finally reached at the Jalan Raya Kuta... it was really an exhausting walk...

Wei Ee and her mum posing in front of the Beach of Hard Rock Hotel, Wei Ee's mum neva fail to look away from my camera though...

On the Kuta Beach, it was the one beach with most crowds in Bali, located in the most happening location of Bali. Alot of people surfing here, some were just having sun-bathe.

There were people gathering at one side of the beach so the curious us also went up to have a look.

We have no idea what event was it, what were the local Balineses were praying for...
The Balinese had events for a vast range and variable reasons, everyday. Bali is indeed a place of ceremony.

These were the local Balineses dancing on the beach in front of the praying altar. A Balinese who goes for a ceremony always wear the traditional white top, the baju kebaya that really looks alike our local Nyonya attire.

I really think every Balinese knows how to dance!

The Hard Rock Hotel

The colorful minibuses fetching passengers along the beach.

The Hard Rock Cafe where we had our dinner.

Hard Rock cafe is all about Rock musics.

Grilled Salmon Steak

Grilled chicken pasta
Fish and Chips

Rib eye steak (Rp189k!!!)
This dinner cost us something slightly above what we spent averagely in the TGI Friday

The interior of the hard rock cafe, a giant guitar standing in the middle of the bar.

Pony carriages were available on the Kuta streets for tourists.

We did not rock at the beach pool, we rocked on the street!

A good place to take photo at the back door of Hard Rock Hotel.

Upstair is the Hard Rock Cafe, bottom is the pub and Rock Shop selling their merchandise...

Got nothing to do, taking photos of our shadow in front of the beach of Hard Rock Cafe while waiting for our driver to come and fetch us.

The limited edition, Bon Jovi (RAWKS!!!) Hard Rock Cafe in Bali, cost me Rp150K.... (RM50).

We had another last minutes shopping at this Bali local products wholesale house --> Krisna. There are quite a number of them in all over Bali, a very successful chain. They are very confident of their prices quoted as the lowest or at least reasonable, that you don't get the chance of bargaining price here!

Thanks our driver for waiting for us so patiently while we shop...
