North Borneo - Sabah trip (Day 5)

Our Last Day in Sabah - Kota Kinabalu

We had our breakfast at a local kopitiam selling nice fish dumplings (鱼滑). Ones can either choose soup noodle or dried soy sauce noodle.

The crispy deep fried fish dumplings comes with the chewy noodle that I like ^_^

Again, local's favorite soup --> tomato + salted sour veggie soup with handmade fish balls, fish dumplings.
After breakfast, we went to the Filipino Market. Ones must not miss visiting this market in Sabah.
The Filipino market is just located opposite to the Le Meridien Hotel.

The Filipino Market consisted of a whole row of stalls along the Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens, selling all sorts of local handicrafts, local delicacies and snacks, coconut puddings, dried seafood and so on, with a big capacity of bargaining.
It is the best place to get dried seafood at best bargain, various choices and alot of stocks available. We can never get any of them at same price in West Malaysia!

One of the stalls selling corals...and shells.

Price ranges from RM10 to RM30 depends on the sizes.

The food stall serving local food and snacks in front of the Tanjung Aru Beach

Tanjung Aru Beach - located about 6km from KK city

The beach side restaurant
Before leaving to Kota Kinabalu International Airport, we had our last lunch in Sabah at a cafe located at 1st floor of Plaza Tanjung Aru (if not mistaken, upstair of TmPoint).

The price was average, each ala carte costs within RM10, despite the awesome ingredients and taste. Not bad a choice of place for dining in ^_^

Iced Mocha

Classic coffee

Made of local Sabah coffee bean, tinged of soury taste

Season Salad

Very big portion of mixed FRESH vegetables

Thai-style chicken rice
Breadcrumbs coated deep fried chicken fillets topped with Thai sweet and sour spicy sauce, nice!
Carbonara Pasta

Creamy cheesy sauce with fresh mushroom slices and chicken chunks, good!

Alright, after a sumptious meal, we headed for airport and end our trip in Sabah...

End of the trip, these are all the stuffs (mainly food) we bought throughout the journey. A big box of frozen fresh seafood, a dead coral, dried sea cucumber, dried shrimps, dried seaweed, dried scallops, groundnuts, prawn crackers, rice crackers, coconut biscuits, fried banana chips.......
This trip would not be made possible without my dear friend, Kung Yang. I would like to dedicate these pages to him for being such a good tour guide of my Sabah trip ^_^
