Ambience rate: 4/5. The restaurant was themed as a railway station. I would have expected it to be more like a British railway station. Yet, it was more like a Malaysian Boleh station, with all the "Visit Malaysia tourism year 2007" stickers all around... Ha.... Well furnished, not bad but can be improved more... still, a good comfortable place to dine in.
Service rate: 3/5. The service must be improved. The waiters did not know how to make recommendations from their own menu. Make us wait for more than 15minutes for our desserts to be served and another 20 minutes to bill. We did not mind waiting, but ur waiters did not inform us that we have to wait, and how long we need to wait. Same thing went with billing. After tired of waiting, we realised that it was best that we bill at the counter straightaway. This was quite ridiculous for a non-self-service restaurant like this. I think it was because the service focused at the central dining area. We were dining in the train cabin so they hardly noticed us.... :(
The train cabin that we dined in.
The menu
Hot Vienna coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and a thickly prepared Chocolate milkshake
Pure Honeydew juice
Sirloin steak with white mushroom sauce - mediumly cooked, topped with white mushroom sauce mingling with a fragrant of brandy. A portion well suitable for two.
Grilled fish fillet... with salad and dressing of choice. The dory fish fillet was tenderly grilled...yum yum...
Fish & Chips... nice, but isn't it too dark the fish fillet look like?
Phoenix dragon combo - half a lobster baked with cheese (damn nice taste) and a piece of hard-to-chew chicken breast meat (=_="").
Mandarin chicken chop... the sweet& sour sauce cooked in the chinese method on the tenderly BBQ chicken chop, nice try.
Fisherman's seafood platter- fish and chips, fried fresh scallops, squids and prawn. The fresh ingredients themselves already made the taste great.
Dessert (for 2 persons) - wine soaked cake with cubes of fruits such as peach, watermelon, pineapple, etc, topped with a thick layer of cream. Before served, the cream top was burnt with wine until golden brown in color. Good try, nice taste for wine+ cake lover.
Banana split - Quite disappointed with its ordinary ice-cream and banana. Nothing special, any mamak stall can serve as well.
Price Rate: Reasonable, cheaper than TGI Friday. I think I have better dine-in experience at the Victoria than in the TGI all over the Klang Valley (I still like Johor Bahru TGI the best!!! Best rated.). I recommended this restaurant and I'm sure I will visit it again.
