New Zealand trip Day 1 - Christchurch --> Lake Tekapo

Flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Christchurch, New Zealand took us 10hours. It was really tiring sitting there whole night, could not really sleep well ~_~

Before landing at Christchurch Airport, we could see whole piece of land covered with ice looking out from the aircraft.

The ChristChurch Airport

The way snow chains are put on tyres during snowy days

Once arrival at Christchurch airport, the 1st thing we did was to pick up our rented car -- Toyota Camry as our main transport for this whole trip in New Zealand.

The sunset on our way from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo which took us about 3.5hours.

New Zealand has shorter day during winter, so the sunset was as early as 5.30pm!

The resort we checked in is the Pepper's, located facing Lake Tekapo. It is a 2-storey chalet with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen which well accomodate a family of 5 like us. Facilities such as hair dryer, heaters, warm water showers, coffee bar, washing machine+dryer are ready for use.

Stepping up to 2nd floor is a kitchen and a living room with a balcony attached.

By the time when we reached Lake Tekapo, it was already very dark even it was only 7.30pm. As soon as we checked in the resort, we quickly drove to our next destination --> Kohan Japanese Restaurant, to feed our famished tummy. Kohan is the most popular japanese restaurant at Lake Tekapo. They serve value to money japanese cuisine, which people from everywhere will definitely like them.

Very simple menu in both English and Japanese, pictures of the recommended dishes are attached.
