Said to be the Original Farmer's Market in Los Angeles. There are quite a number of farmer's market around Los Angeles if you ask the locals, but this one is the oldest one with a lot of different cuisine served. Fresh ingredients stalls are much limited compared to the others.
Used to be a place for farmers to gather and sell their livestocks and harvests. Later transformed into an entertainment place for locals and visitors. There will be musical events arranged throughout the year that you can check the event calendar at their website.
Next to the market is The Grove. A place for shopping, dining, cinema, lifestyle, etc.
First time in my life saw the real sponge harvested from under the sea. Each of them are sold at the price according to their sizes and weight. Small pieces like those in picture ranged from USD 5 to 15.
In principle to save the Mother Earth, we should not buy these sponge that are meant for the habitats of minute sea living creatures.
