Food In Korea

Finally got the chance to taste the authentic Korean Cuisine in Korea.

They are not really much different from our local Korea restaurant, it is the local ingredients available in Korea which are not available locally here that makes the difference.

Food that you can find at normal food court:

Tempura prawn with curry and gyoza.... Korean food is largely influenced by Japanese food as well... but in Korea, any food must come with Kim Chi, the fermented chilli cabbages.

Fried Pork Cutlet rice, Korean people likes to eat rice a lot, their servings are really big. I heard the local said some of them maybe only eat one decent meal a day and other meals are much simpler and light.

Kimchi soup cold noodle.

BBQ drumlets.

Squid and caviar bibimbap (mixture of vegetables and squid and chilli sauce and rice.)

In korea, most of their food are cooked in a pot. I think they are pretty lazy chefs, Lolz...., they just marinate meats and cook everything in a pot with only kimchi sauce or chilli sauce.

Ajuma (middle-aged lady in Korean language) is helping to stir the food in proper way.

BIBIMBAP, mixed every thing in a stone grilled bowl with chilli sauce, I personally like this Korean food very much.

Soup or BBQ or Stir fried, Korean Food is all about all in a pot.

A must-not-miss-to-try breakfast in Jeju Island of Korea --- Abalone Porridge

Soft butter bun with a fried egg

and a variety of side dishes...

It is such a luxury to have abalone in the porridge for breakfast, it did not smell fishy at all because of the fresh seafood ingredients.

The restaurant is just located beside a fishing port.

The set meal comes with some rice noodle and rice wine.
To either drink the rice wine just like this or to pour it into the soup to make the taste richer

Winter Skiing @ Vivaldi Skii Resort

Vivaldi Ocean Park is the largest theme park+resort in South Korea which provides Skiing facilities in winter and waterpark in summer.

There are also hotels, chalets, restaurants, shopping emporium, indoor swimming pool and sauna,  indoor games such as bowling, karaoke, movie cinema, archery, snookers, and etc. You can spend a few days in the resort without going out.

The largest skii park in South Korea, there are actually 4 different lanes of skii path for players of different levels.

Rental of skii equipment is available in the park.

The skii park is big enough to accomodate thousands of visitors without any worry.

We can always take a gondola ride to reach the peak.
Look at how large the area is the resort, there are many blocks of hotel to cater visitors from all over the world.

 What's Mr. Pig thinking?

Skilled skii players can always skii their way down from the peak.

Seongsan Ichubong - Jeju Island

Seongsan Ichubong (城山日出峰), the famous landmark a.k.a sunrise peak in Jeju Island.

There are certain days in a year with certain time to see sunrise at peak of the mountain.
The sunrise schedules are written down on this stone.

The mountain used to be an erupting Volcano 5000years ago. But now, it's a "dead" volcano.

In order to reach the mountain peak, we have to climb for about 500metres.
It's not easy with the extreme weather in Jeju Island - strong windy and freezing cold. The wind almost blow my head off.

Breathtaking paranomic scenery at half height of the mountain.

The Volcanic crater of Seongsan Ichubong.
If I knew that what I will see for climbing so hard and far up here just to see a crater covered with green field. I swear I will never climb this far....
