Since young I've already know the existence of this Bistro, but I never know that it is serving French cuisine, neither do I ever visited it. Until one day, a friend recommended this place.... so I decided to have a try...
Our Les Hors D’oeuvre…(Appetizers)
Appetizer No. 1 --
Assiette de Saumon Fume (Norwegian smoked salmon) - with caviar and sour cream (RM28)
There were 5 large and thick slices of smokes salmon, definitely fresh, came with caviar, lemon slice and sour cream. The caviar is definitely a good one, as the bubbles "pip pip pop pop" within our mouth.
French bread - Baguette as starter as well. Goes well with their home-made butter, full creamy with frangrance of milk butter. Thumbs up to the butter!
As our ala-cartes are mainly of white meat, they go well with white wine.
Ok, the most expensive appetizer ever, haha. But it is worth. The goose liver was very well prepared, non-odorous, pan-fried until the edges were crispy but the middle was soft like beancurd, it melts on tongue. The salad lettuce in soury sauce and olive oil successfully rids off the greasiness of liver...
I even topped my baguette with home made butter, caviar and sour cream. It tastes great!
Yummy! The best food ingredients in the world in my both hands, baguette with caviar in my left, foie gras in my right.
This little wine bottle holds the menu of beverages, they serve wines (white and red), cocktails, coffees, non-alcoholic mocktails and fruit juices.
The ceiling with a lot approns of different designs hanging like canvas, shows that the chef really loves cooking and travelling =)
Our white wine for the night, to finish the whole bottle by 3 alcoholic ladies is not a problem at all.
Les Plats Principaux…(Main Courses)
2 whole duck legs in stew with cubes potatos, carrots, hazelnuts, and alot of spices. I think only 2 persons can finish this serving portion.
I did not want to try the duck stew initially as I always get disappointment from other places, not many people can really make a good dish with duck if they are not good enough.
However, the chef managed to convince me that he is good, the duck meat was very tender. Once u taste it, u know the effort behind the whole dish.
Main course No. 2 --
Pate pesto au chevre (Pesto and goat cheese pasta ) (RM26)
Spagghetti tossed with pesto, goat cheese and roasted almonds. When I ordered this pasta, the waiter was shocked, she warned me that this pasta is very very cheesy that most Locals cannot take it. She ask if I want to change my mind. Oh, this is the right choice for me, as I love cheese!
How can pasta come without cheese for me??!!
It tastes really good. Even though we were very full from the main courses, the desserts work very well at opening my another hidden place in the stomach.
It is a good place where you would like to have a good chat and laughters with friends or family.
I think it needs some french music as it was a bit too quiet in there.
The service was really good. We were all used to be under-serviced by other low rate restaurant already, the service here made us felt like we were in Europe.
