After reading the Twilight saga....

It's not usual that I write reviews on books that I've read. And this one is not likely a review anyway... just some thoughts after done reading the series. After all, it was another of my own record-breaking result to be able to finish all 4 thick books in less than 2 weeks time. (like I have nothing better to do, keke)

I'm not sure if they were the best book I've ever read but they are definitely absolutely the most romantic series I've read (anyway, not that I've read many of!). Romantic, thrilling and alot of suspense and jokes.

It was not until after watching the movie "Twilight" that I knew about the existence of the Twilight saga. Me and my dear girlfriend, Chloe, happened to be so bored with no other nice movies with better reviews around at that time, we chose to watch Twilight in the cinema that midnite. We could hardly breath throughout the movie, awed by the breathtakingly handsome vampire Edward Cullen by Robert Pattinson and the beautiful human gal Bella Swan by Stewart Kirsten, by the poetic conversations of the couple, by the lullaby-like background music, by the so-not-real scenery, and etc... Both of us just became so excited after the movie and could not help but keep drowning ourselves back into the movie scenes.... (hey, abit too exaggerated? yeah, gals are just always like that upon beautiful things, lucky I still have the gal part in me.)

And we just cannot wait for the movie New Moon to tell us the continued story, so we rushed to the books. And of course, as books have always do, books tell us more than the movie do, books are the more fascinating one to read than to watch the movie for the whole complete story about, if you have the time and energy.

Twilight - Book 1

Okay, since I've already done with the movie, so I've already know what is going on in the 1st book. The 1st book is not just the introduction of the vampire love story of the series, although the next 3 books had alot new stories to tell about all the supernatural things happening in Forks, this 1st book sort of concluded that Bella and Edward are perfect and destined for each other already.

I bet most of the readers of this best-selling series are females. After all, the author was writing from Bella's perspective, from a girl's perspective. I can't think of many guys who can really stand to read this kind of mushy story, ha.

It was not surprise to find that the movie was slightly different from the original story, just slightly though, and I was actually quite impressed that the director or whoever might have contributed did well in making the movie no less interesting than the original story. Now only I found out that the colorful graduation caps arranged in a rainbow-like pattern on the wall in Cullen's house that we saw in the movie was not from the book (that was one of the parts that humored me most). Bella did not meet Jacob and Billy Black the first day she was in Forks in the book; she was not using the slow, old computer in the movie, she did not research on the vampire doubts on books and internet but she got most the clues from Jacob Black's horror legends. And of course there was no scene of the perfect apple catch by Edward in the book.

The movie did help me alot in imagining the characters in the story though as I read along, I think the movie did good job in choosing the casts, well, they really fit almost perfect.

Then, the poetic romantic conversations between the couple were so touchy, though I don't hear anyone speak like that anymore around, not that easy to find in this real world, but I really loved their lines. E.g. "You're my brand of heroin", "if I could dream at all, it would be about you"...

New Moon - Book 2
This book is a heartbreaking one. I've already knew that Edward was going to leave Bella in this book (I just can't wait to peek throughthe synopsis before I got the set of books), that I'm a bit reluctant to read this book for it's definitely going to be a sad one.

"I promise that this will be the last time you'll see me." - Edward

And when Edward left Bella, it was truly unbearably sad. He took away all the things that he gave her before as if he did not exist in her life at all. That was really uncool and cruel! How Bella behaved like a zombie, how she seek extreme sports to just produce the hallucination of Edward's angry voices, that was silly but understandable. The feeling of the heartbreaking sadness made me cried uncontrollably...

It was hard to believe that One can fall in love with 2 persons, both so deeply that you can't leave just any one. Isn't it a bit too greedy? Although Bella was so sure that she loves Edward most. Ya, that's why she hurt both Edward and Jacob, and it was this inevitable conflict that the story can still go on, ha.

And right when Edward was finally back with Bella, Jacob was no where in the last part of book, the lovey-dovey pair was just drowning in their romance so much that I really sympathize the hurt on Jacob...

"If you stay, I don't need heaven. That's all I'm asking for." - Bella

Eclipse - Book 3

This book is comparatively bored than the rest 3 books. It was like tale-telling or history book all the way, one after another, to introduce reader each characters which will be playing important roles in the final book. All in all, this is the book to PREPARE the climax in the finale.

It was a long way to read... from the beginning we've already knew that Victoria was plotting on something and the newborns were coming after Bella, and the tale-telling just went on until the last part then only they arrived at Forks! Making me so impatient already...

Good thing is Edward and Bella had finally decided to get married, in condition to change Bella...

And then the imprinting matters... I believe that there is love at first sight. However, the kind of love at first sight that determine one's fate like imprinting is just so hard to come by, so hard to believe it really exists or not.

Breaking Dawn - Book 4

I love this book as much as I have for the second book.

Everything was happy, romantic, beautiful.

When Bella and Edward finally got married, most of us must have already relieved that they are going to be happily ever after, I was expecting on the difficult part to occur when Bella is going to be converted. Who knows the hell surprise next is that she is able to conceive a vampire baby?! Well, the author is really awesome. And yeah, Bella is really a magnet of dangers, she would be in grave danger even after marrying to whom she loved with her life, even the final book ends with happily ever after vampire family life, I bet there will still be more pursuing after them, which may make the fifth book, ha.

I love the part of how BURNING was being described. It was conveyed so well that I can imagine, I can feel the burning from the words, the sentences, to the last part... to the heart, the last human organ being changed.

And of course, how can a fan of the Twilight saga's collection be complete without the DVD of the movie and the soundtracks. Believe me, the musics are awesome, everytime I listen to them, they brought me back into the movie, excited.
