The first thing we need to do after arriving at Gopeng was to meet up with our tour guide. However, our tour guide haven't reach yet, so we gonna wait for him...... while waiting, we just hanging around lor~~ parking our van aside, we walked around the streets......look look see see....
A small town it may be, quite busy in the morning still.....
Gopeng is a very small town. I guess there has been few tourists or even foreigners walking around the streets there, so the big group of us which consists of 2 Holand gals had drawn alot of attentions from the town folks. Most probably we did look like first timers there, haha..... hanging around like we were just released from jail, and also photographing around, suah gu.
Nice, eh?
keke, i like this photo.... taxi station, yet i really didn't see any taxi beside it.
What were we looking at?
Finally, at 11.30am, we were ready to go for White Water Rafting yeah! We passed by some small Malay Kampung on the way. The roads were narrow and bengkang-bengkok like snake. Whenever there was another car heading from opposite of our car, either car will have to stop to let the other go first.
Again, the group posing b4 squeezing into the van
It was not long before we reach our destination, Sungai Kampar. Wow, once we reached there, we saw there were already alot of people from everywhere of Malaysia. People all well-equiped and ready to play already. Suddenly, we all got excited, can't wait anymore to get ride on our raft.
First, 12 of us were divided into 3 groups. Each group taking a raft and a guide. Poor ChanFoong had no choice but to join my group.... the only guy in our raft, keke.
The group of four: OnionHead,ShyJye, Robyn, ChanFoong
We had some warming-ups before really getting started--> dip into the cold water, float and flow following the water stream. Here was where u get wet at the very beginning.
Alrite, start rowing!
Then, the rowing started. From hill top, we rowed down along the stream with alot of bumpings, abstacles, rocks all the way.... knocking left and right....kelam-kabut man.... still beginners, so most of the difficult tasks were done by our guide. Poor guide, small-sized but still need to be strong....
Our Guide, Max, and us
Too bad, the stream that day wasn't strong and high enough, we had stucked on rocks for uncountable times, so tiring to get ourselves out of obstacles. And spent alot of time while waiting other rafts to pass through each narrow rock walls..... as each time only 1 raft can pass through at 1 go. So we had alot of chances to dip ourselves in water and swim while waiting. This was also the critical time that you would rather swim in the water than stay still on your raft, b'cos there were alot of mischievious people trying to pull you backward down into the water....scary man.... you don't even know who did it.
Playing with water!
Yeah! Happy Ending...... with all the participants on that morning.
The whole journey from hilltop (about 7km) only took less than 2 hours but we were still all exhausted and hungry. Luckily, some refreshment already prepared for us....hehehe..... the whole trip only cost us RM97 each.... damn worth it.....keke. We had experienced level 1, 2 and 3 of white water rafting oh! Given a cert some more.
Finish, b4 getting up from raft, last cheeze!
